Naomi House Jacksplace

Jill McDonagh, Corporate Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace said “Wingate Electrical have kindly supported the hospices through their Golf Day for the past 6 years, during this time we’ve developed a great relationship to the point they now feel like part of the Naomi House family! Having the security of knowing that they’ve been supporting us year on year is invaluable and really helps us plan for the future. Over the years they have raised over £31,000 which is phenomenal, that’s enough to cover the costs of our annual Remembering Day for every year they’ve supported us. A very special date in our calendar and one that means so much to families who have experienced the loss of a child.”

Wingate staff played a round of golf at Basingstoke Golf Club and with the help of staff and their supply chain they raised a fantastic £1000.

There was a beat the pro hole which was run by Jordan Godwin, a Wingate sponsored PGA Pro. After the golf there was dinner at the club with more fundraising and a comedian in the form of Sales Director Matthew Cummings. Unfortunately, not too many of his jokes are printable!

Wingate Building Services have been a fantastic support to our team since 2016 and we are pleased to continue our relationship into the 2019 season. Their backing has allowed the team to move through the ranks and progress from the 600 Superstock championship where numerous podiums and fastest laps were achieved to the elite Supersport category where we battle factory backed teams. The backing offered by Wingate allows the team to produce race machines to a higher specification accompanied by improved data analysis systems. This allows us to continuously improve and push for the highest results possible.

Wigley Racing has a unique element to the team called the Young Engineering Students project which was founded in 2013. The project means that our team is formed by students who carry out every task from the data analysis, bike mechanics, suspension alterations and much more. Working alongside Colleges and Universities, we take on motorsport/motor mechanic students and develop their knowledge teaching them everything they need to know about being a key member of a highly competitive race team. This provides those involved with greatly valued work experience and supports the next generation of the engineering industry which would not be possible without the support of Wingate. Recent progression of this project has seen our longest serving student undertaking a Masters in Motorsport Engineering along with the recruitment of a further 4 young engineers.
