By focusing our attention on recruiting individuals into identifiable roles we are able to build on their personal attributes.
TO ACHIEVE THIS WE UTILISE:
Job specifications that target key tasks and manage our expectations.
Inductions that are informative and give an insight into the practices and procedures of the Company.
Appraisals that target performance and identify skills gaps and training requirements.
By strengthening our own performance in these areas we are able to identify individuals for onward progression and promotion into key roles, this includes our Apprentices who already benefit from a structured training program.
RECRUITMENT
The stability of our workforce comes from selecting and retaining those individuals with relevant skills, this is critical to our success and the Human Resources team play a vital role in getting the process right. Our approach is informal and friendly but professional, our standards are high. We focus on realistic goals for the organisation and encourage individual flair and initiative to manage our expectations. We continue to improve our company by improving the standards of our existing employees and our selection process of those looking to join us.
APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME
We offer several apprenticeships each year in either Electrical Installation or Plumbing. Each apprenticeship is offered on a full time employment basis which provides the combined benefit of studying at college on a day / block release basis and on the job training.
A total commitment to becoming a fully qualified electrician or plumber is essential as the apprenticeship can take anywhere between three and four years to complete. Progression through the scheme is based on individual achievement at each stage.
Our apprenticeship recruitment programme commences in May each year and we start by seeking suitably located applicants that have taken and passed the standard industry test conducted by JTL (Joint Training Ltd). Interviews are then conducted locally at any one of our eight regional offices throughout the UK.
We also welcome applications directly from individuals who wish to be considered for an apprenticeship with us. Where employment is being considered you will be invited to undertake the standard industry test as part of our entry procedure, arrangements for this will be made, on your behalf, with JTL.
