NEW Health & Safety campaign: ‘Make it Safe – Make it Home’
Launch Date: October 2011

Health & Safety could never be more important than it is today! Why? Because we now operate in an economic climate where cutting costs is on most agendas – but at what cost?

We acknowledge that nothing can guarantee a project will experience a completely clean record of no near misses, an incident or accident – however, what we can do is train and prepare our people to understand that it is their behaviour towards Health & Safety that counts.

Our new campaign ‘Make it Safe – Make it Home’ is built on the foundation of our Incident & Injury Free (IIF) behavioural safety programme. Our key issues are:-

TRAINING
Each individual’s skill base delivers knowledge and Behavioural Safety awareness. This
responsibility puts this training into practice.

MAKE IT SAFE
‘Make it Safe’ is based on training, competence and responsibility.

COMMITMENT
Through our structure we are committed to implementing and maintaining our comprehensive H&S
Management System which is accessible to all employees.

LEADERSHIP
We provide training and expect our employees at all levels to demonstrate initiative and exercise
leadership.

DUTY OF CARE
The objective of the Procedures we have in place is to ensure that everyone exercises Duty of Care morally and legally.

ACHIEVEMENT
First, to go home safe. Second, in the knowledge that our work has also given our colleagues the opportunity to leave their workplace accident/incident free.

COMPETENCE
Competence is the minimum expected of all our employees and Behavioural Safety is a vital part of our culture.

Our Management and Operatives receive regular in-house and external safety training and have a minimum of CSCS/ECS, SMSTS & SSSTS certification. Where necessary our employees attend specialist safety courses to suit either their particular discipline or current project’s requirements.

Our policy is to ensure that all operatives are technically approved and competent to carry out the tasks assigned to them.
